Founded
in 1946, J.R. Vigneault, a small hardware store, gave way to an industrial
dimension in 1952 with the arrival of the mining compagnies along the
Quebec North Shore and Labrador.
- In 1962, the original building was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt
in the same year, doubling its operating area from 1500 to 3000 square
feet.
- The year 1985 marked the beginning of an industrial vision for the
company with the opening of Sanitation Sept-Iles, today a part of Distributions
J.R.V.
- In 1990, J.R. Vigneault proceded with the expansion of its premises
in Sept-Iles, passing 30,000 square feet. The company Equipements Industriels
Cartier joined the ranks of J.R. Vigneault in 1991.
- In 1996, J.R. Vigneault celebrated its 50th year of business and
proceded with the opening of J.R.V. Distributing in Labrador City.
- The years 1997 and 1998 brought with them the acquisition of Accessoires
Sept-Iles, specializing in wire rope, slings and lifting equipment as
well as the opening of HSP Industriel in Havre-St-Pierre. At the same
time, J.R.V. Distributing in Labrador City was changed to LPS Distributing.
- In February 2000, J.R. Vigneault merged all these industrial distribution
compagnies under the name Distributions J.R.V., at the same time keeping
their distinct identities.

To maintain and increase its position as leader in industrial
distribution along the Quebec North Shore and in Labrador,
while relying on the competence of its employees, its geographical
position, its vast array of product lines and the confidence
of its customers.
