The Cle-Line Taper, Plug, and Bottoming Hand Tap Set (Style #0404, Item #C62032) is a high-speed steel (HSS) set designed for creating 1/4"-20 UNC threads. The set includes three taps—taper, plug, and bottoming—all with straight flutes, and each tap is equipped with four flutes for efficient cutting. These taps have a bright surface finish and are ground for improved precision.
Each tap in the set features a tap limit of H3 and is designed with a thread length of 1.0000" (25.40mm). The taps' shanks are square-ended, with a square width of 0.1910" (4.85mm) and a square length of 0.3125" (7.94mm). The set includes taps with a 1/4" diameter and a thread pitch of 20, with no interrupted threads.
The set comes in a Rose Plastic® UniBox case, ensuring safe and organized storage. It is ideal for use in materials such as cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals like aluminum, and steel. The taps are suitable for general-purpose threading applications where taper, plug, and bottoming taps are required for precision threading in both blind and through holes.
