The Cleveland Taper, Plug, and Bottoming Hand Tap Set, model 1004/900, is designed for 7/16"-20 UNF (Unified National Fine) threads. This set includes three taps, each crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), ensuring durability and effective performance in a variety of threading tasks. The taps feature a bright finish to reduce friction and enhance cutting efficiency.

The taps in this set are straight flute hand taps with four flutes, which promote smooth chip removal during threading. These taps are suitable for right-hand cutting, and they feature a Taper, Plug, and Bottoming chamfer style for versatility in creating threads to different depths. The taps are constructed according to the USCTI Table 302 standards, with ground threads to ensure precision.

Each tap has a thread pitch of 20 threads per inch and a thread length of 1.4400" (36.58mm). The overall length of each tap is 3.1600" (80.26mm), and the shank size is 0.3230" (8.20mm), featuring a square end configuration for secure clamping in the tool holder.
