The Cle-Line Regular NPT Thread Taper Pipe Tap (Style #0462, Item #C64219) is a high-speed steel (HSS) tap designed for creating 1"-11.5 NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads. This tapered pipe tap is constructed for threading applications that require precision and durability. It features a bright surface finish and is designed with a medium hook taper, ideal for achieving accurate pipe threads.
With an overall length of 3.7500" (95.25mm) and a thread length of 1.7500" (44.45mm), this tap provides excellent reach and threading capacity. The 1"-11.5 NPT size ensures compatibility with a wide range of pipe fittings. It has a semi-bottoming chamfer, with straight flutes and 5 flutes, ensuring efficient chip removal and smooth cutting. The tap has a right-hand cut for typical applications and is made from HSS for strength and longevity.
The tap has a straight shank with square ends for easy installation in a chuck, with a shank size of 1.1250" (28.57mm) and a square width of 0.8430" (21.41mm).
