The Cleveland Taper, Plug, and Bottoming Hand Tap Set, model 1004, is a versatile tapping solution designed for threading materials in the #12-28 UNF size. This set is made from high-speed steel (HSS), offering durability and precision for a wide range of applications. The set includes three taps: taper, plug, and bottoming, providing the flexibility to tackle different threading depths and hole types.
Each tap has a diameter of 0.2160" and an overall length of 2.3800" (60.45mm), with a thread length of 0.9400" (23.88mm). The taps are designed with straight flutes, ensuring efficient chip removal, and have four flutes to improve cutting performance. The H3 tolerance and UNF thread form guarantee accurate and reliable thread creation with a 28 thread pitch.
The taps feature a straight square shank with a square end, allowing for secure gripping in toolholders. The chamfer design, combining taper, plug, and bottoming, is ideal for both through-hole and blind-hole applications, enabling smooth threading in various materials.
