The Cleveland Taper, Plug, and Bottoming Hand Tap Set, model 1004/900, is designed for tapping UNC (Unified National Coarse) threads with a size of 1/4"-20. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) and featuring a bright finish, this tap set offers excellent durability and reliability for general threading applications.
The taps are straight flute hand taps, ideal for cutting threads in a variety of materials. With a thread length of 1.0000" (25.40mm) and an overall length of 2.5000" (63.50mm), these taps provide efficient performance in both shallow and deeper tapping operations. The taps are ground for precise threads and feature a taper-plug-bottoming chamfer for versatile threading tasks. The set includes three taps and is housed in a Rose Plastic® UniBox case for secure and convenient storage.
The taps have a shank size of 0.2550" (6.48mm) and are designed with a straight configuration with square end features, ensuring a secure fit and ease of use. The taps also feature a right-hand cut, making them suitable for most conventional threading operations.
