This flap disc features alternating zirconia alumina (blue) and aluminum oxide (black) flaps, offering superior performance compared to aluminum oxide alone while maintaining an economical price. Designed for use at a 0 to 15-degree angle on flat surfaces, it excels in blending and smooth finishing. The flexible plastic backing plate adds conformability and is easily trimmable for quick adjustments. The polyester/cotton backing combination ensures good cut rate and finishing. With an extra coarse 36 grit, it is ideal for stock removal, beveling, and edge chamfering. Suitable for both soft metals and hard-to-grind materials like stainless and carbon steel, this 5-inch Type 27 flap disc operates at a maximum RPM of 12,000.
