Description:Magnesium chloride with minimal generation of dust when handling, loading or spreading. Prewetting of surface to dissolve materis is 'usually optional'. Mixing into a brine is 'optional'. Use of liquid brine is 'not required'. 20 to 40 minutes (depending on weather conditions) dissolution time. Duration of effect lasts a few weeks to a few months. The safety features are minimal skin irritation when handling. Minimal effect on pets and animals. Very good rating for household safety. 8100 (very low) toxicity (LD50). ENVIRONMENTAL issues: chloride content is only 34.5% (29% less that other dust control chemicals). 'Low' effect on vegetations. 'Low' corrosiveness on metals. Magnesium outperforms other ice melters.
