The Starrett 344 Precision Ground Flat Stock (model 58950) is crafted from A6 Air Hardening Tool Steel, measuring 36 inches in length, 1 inch in width, and 1/8 inch in thickness. This high-quality flat stock offers a 35 microinch or finer finish, providing excellent machinability, toughness, and wear resistance. A6 steel's unique medium alloy composition enables air hardening at a lower heat treatment temperature, similar to oil hardening steels, resulting in deep hardness with minimal distortion—ideal for precision machining and industrial applications.
